The structure originated as the National Botanic Garden's main orangery until 1958, when the botanical activities moved to Meise in Flemish Brabant.

The center presents photography exhibitions, music concerts, and contemporary art shows, serving as the French Community of Belgium's primary cultural venue.

Located at Rue Royale 236, the institution opens Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00 to 18:00, with convenient access via metro lines 2 and 6.

The annual Les Nuits Botanique festival transforms the venue and its gardens into a multi-stage musical celebration during spring months.
