Port ostréicole de la Teste

The port features numerous white cabins along the water where 36 oyster farmers operate their businesses throughout the year, maintaining traditional practices.

Established in 1841, this harbor underwent significant transformations from a shallow port for wine transport to a specialized center for oyster cultivation.

Local oyster farmers use traditional flat-bottomed boats to navigate the waters, continuing methods passed down through generations in the Arcachon Bay.

Visitors can reach the port by following Avenue du Général Leclerc from Arcachon until they spot the large parking area on the left side.

The harbor contains a small lock system through which boats must carefully navigate to access the sea, creating a specific maritime traffic pattern.
