Mountain Resort Feuerberg
Mountain Resort Feuerberg is a hotel on Gerlitze Alpe mountain in Austria, sitting just below the summit at around 1,770 meters. The building was constructed with wood, features a green roof, and includes a large wellness area with pools, saunas, and an indoor oval swimming pool with a glass dome.
The resort was built in several phases and emerged as a modern wellness hotel in the Alps. Architect Dr. Ronacher chose wood as the primary material to make the buildings energy-efficient and environmentally responsible.
The resort's name comes from the mountain on which it stands. Visitors experience here the alpine culture of the Carinthian region, where nature and hospitality are closely connected.
The resort sits high on the mountain and is easily reached via hiking trails and ski slopes. Most guests arrive during the ski season between December and March or during the hiking season between June and September.
The resort features a special oval indoor pool with a glass roof and an integrated garden space on the roof where guests can sunbathe and relax. The windows use a special plastic spacer that prevents heat loss and stops moisture buildup on the glass.
