Banana Beach, Tourist beach in Vasilikos, Greece
Banana Beach stretches over several kilometers and offers fine sand with water that gradually slopes into the Mediterranean. The coastline forms a distinctive curved shape along the peninsula.
The beach received its name in the 1970s because of its curved shape resembling a banana. Early visitors recognized this geographical similarity and the name stuck.
The middle section draws water sports enthusiasts and swimmers who gather here to spend time together. People use this area as a meeting point for various water activities and social activities by the sea.
The beach has multiple facilities including umbrella rentals, changing rooms, and restrooms with several cafes nearby. A parking area is located right next to the beach, making visits convenient.
The left section preserves a more natural character with fewer visitors despite frequent winds in the area. This quieter section offers a contrast to the busier middle section.
