Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg
Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg is a water park in the Burgenland municipality of Lutzmannsburg, offering indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, wave pools, and a dedicated sauna area. The park is divided into separate zones for toddlers, families, and adults, each with its own facilities and pool types.
The thermal park opened in the 1990s and was built around the natural thermal water found in the region. Over the following years, new sections were added gradually, bringing more slides and the sauna area to their current form.
The name Sonnentherme refers to the use of thermal water and solar energy that warms it. The park draws families from the surrounding region, where children get their first real experience of water through play rather than formal lessons.
Arriving in the morning helps avoid the longest waits at the most popular slides, especially during school holidays. A bathrobe is useful since the paths between indoor areas, outdoor pools, and the sauna pass through open sections.
The park has one of Europe's longest virtual reality slides, where visitors put on glasses and travel through animated worlds with dragons and aliens during the ride. The sauna area also runs infusion sessions with unusual scents such as chocolate and honey.
