Ho Guom Theatre, Performing arts theatre in Hoàn Kiếm District, Hanoi, Vietnam
Ho Guom Theatre is a modern neoclassical building with a glass facade, 52 stone columns imported from Spain, and two auditoriums accommodating 800 and 500 guests respectively for opera and music performances.
The theatre was built on the former site of a French colonial security barracks, with construction beginning in December 2021 and completion in July 2023 after 22 months of work.
The interior features traditional Vietnamese motifs including Dong Son bronze drum patterns and depictions of the Le Loi sword legend, blending national heritage with contemporary design elements.
Located at 40 Hang Bai Street near Hoan Kiem Lake, the theatre opens daily from 09:00 to 17:00 and hosts opera, symphonies, ballet, and modern performances throughout the week.
In 2023, the theatre was recognized by World Travel Awards as one of the ten best opera houses globally, less than six months after its official inauguration ceremony.
