Scientists discovered this geological formation in 1945, leading to its development as a tourist destination and research site for studying cave formations.
The cave forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage route connecting Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert through the Herault Valley gorges.
Tours begin every 30 minutes between 10:30 and 17:30, with experienced guides leading visitors through illuminated passages maintained at 14 degrees Celsius.
The cave contains rare aragonite crystal formations that grow in different directions, defying gravity and creating unusual patterns on the walls.
