Chemin de fer d'Abreschviller, Heritage railway in Abreschviller, France

The Chemin de fer d'Abreschviller operates on a 6.1-kilometer track through the Sarre Rouge valley, featuring restored vintage locomotives and passenger cars.

The railway network, established in 1884 during German control of the region, expanded to 73 kilometers by 1950 before declining due to truck transportation.

The Association du Chemin de Fer Forestier maintains traditional forestry transportation methods and educates visitors about regional industrial development through guided tours.

Visitors can access the railway from April to October, with trains running Tuesday through Sunday, offering tours that last approximately 90 minutes.

The railway terminates at Grand Soldat station, where passengers can observe a traditional water-powered sawmill demonstrating historical lumber processing techniques.
