Pavirvytės dvaras
Pavirvytės dvaras is a manor house from the early nineteenth century in the Viekšnių seniūnija area, featuring classical proportions with simple symmetrical facades and restrained decoration. The interior contains spacious entrance halls with rooms arranged to emphasize balance and practical organization.
The manor was constructed in the early nineteenth century and purchased in 1840 by Juozas Paulavičius as a family property. It subsequently passed to his son Eduardas, a school director whose contributions to education influenced the development of a local library system in the region.
The manor once housed a library that circulated among local landowners and regional intellectuals. Today it serves as a venue for traditional craft workshops and cultural events that connect visitors with regional heritage.
The location sits peacefully along the Virvytė river bank, making it accessible for a calm visit. The surrounding grounds offer space for walking or picnicking, with open terrain that is easy to navigate.
The estate now keeps Scottish Highland cattle and other animals that visitors can observe and interact with up close. This unexpected addition brings a living, practical dimension to the historical property beyond its architectural significance.
