Háj u Aše

Bismarckturm is a stone observation tower in Háj u Aše that rises 34 meters above ground with multiple viewing platforms connected by internal staircases. The structure allows visitors to reach different elevation points for looking out over the surrounding area.

This structure was built as part of a network of 240 towers erected between 1869 and 1934 to commemorate Otto von Bismarck, Germany's first chancellor. These buildings appeared during a period of intensive memorial architecture in the region.

The tower reflects a period of German architectural presence in the Bohemian borderlands, following standardized designs by architect Wilhelm Kreis. This structure was part of how such buildings shaped the appearance of the region during that era.

The tower is generally open to visitors from April through October, with extended hours during the summer season. Access may vary by season, so checking current opening times before visiting is advisable.

The structure preserves original brazier installations that were lit during commemorative events, marking it as part of a broader memorial network. These features show that such buildings served as live gathering places.
