Excavated in 1943 from an oppidum in central Bohemia, this sculpture dates to the second or third century BC during La Tène period.
The neck features a traditional Celtic torc design while the ears take the form of lotus buds, demonstrating characteristic La Tène artistic elements.
The stone head measures 234 millimeters in height and 174 millimeters in width, with four of its five original fragments preserved.
The archaeologist Ivan Borkovský concealed the sculpture during World War II to prevent its confiscation by Nazi occupiers until 1945.
