Bunker Drnov - Cold War and Air Defence Museum

Bunker Drnov is an underground complex that once served as a central command post for monitoring airspace and now operates as a museum. The facility preserves original radar equipment, communication devices, and military objects displayed across its subterranean levels.

The bunker was built in the early 1960s to monitor airspace across the region during Cold War confrontations. It was deactivated in 1995 following the end of Soviet control and later converted to preserve this chapter of military history.

The exhibits reveal how soldiers spent their days working in these underground chambers, with glimpses of their sleeping quarters, mess halls, and watch rotations. You can sense the monotony and focus required for continuous surveillance duties in this isolated environment.
