Hess triangle, Tiny landmark in New York City
The Hess Triangle is a small triangular tile mosaic set in a sidewalk in Greenwich Village, Manhattan.
It was created as a result of a dispute between the city and the estate of David Hess over property rights.
The triangle has become a symbol of property rights and individualism in the face of government intervention.
You can find it at the intersection of Seventh Avenue South and Christopher Street.
Despite its size, it's considered one of the smallest privately owned properties in New York City.
