Lachay National Reserve, National reserve in Peru
Lachay National Reserve is a protected area located in the district of Huaura, in Lima, Peru.
Established in 1977, the reserve was created to protect and preserve the unique mist-fed ecosystem known as Lomas.
The reserve is home to various endemic species and serves as a cultural symbol of biodiversity conservation in Peru.
The best time to visit the reserve is during the months of August to October, when the hills are green due to winter drizzles.
The reserve's ecosystem is unique because it is entirely dependent on the moisture from sea mists.
