Saqsaywaman, Inca fortress in Cusco, Peru

Sacsayhuamán is a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco, Peru.

The fortress was constructed during the reign of Pachacuti (1438–1471) and his successors.

It's a significant part of the Inca Empire and holds great cultural importance to the people of Peru.

The site is open to tourists and offers stunning views of the city below.

Its walls are built with massive stones, some weighing as much as 200 tons.
