Victoria Falls, Waterfall in southern Africa

Victoria Falls, also known as 'The Smoke That Thunders', is one of the world's largest and most spectacular waterfalls.

Named by Scottish explorer David Livingstone in honor of Queen Victoria in 1855, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989.

The falls are considered a spiritual place by local tribes, who believe they are inhabited by a god named Nyaminyami.

The best time to visit Victoria Falls is during the dry season, from May to October, when the water level is lower and visibility is better.

Victoria Falls is one of the few places on earth where a person can see a moonbow or lunar rainbow, which occurs when the moon's light is refracted by rain droplets.
