Gunung Pancar

Gunung Pancar is a summit in the Jonggol mountain range in West Java, rising 854 meters above sea level with varied terrain throughout. The slopes feature gradients between 15 and 40 degrees, offering different routes with varying difficulty levels.

The mountain historically served as a natural border separating Sundanese cultural regions in West Java from other Indonesian territories. This geographic location shaped settlement patterns and trade routes in the area for centuries.

Local communities regularly visit the tomb of Mbah Putih on the slopes, a site that holds spiritual meaning for the area. This practice shows how the mountain plays a religious role in people's everyday lives.

The ascent to the summit starts from Karang Tengah Village via marked trails and takes about two hours from the base. The best time to hike is in early morning when conditions are most favorable and fewer people are on the trail.

The mountain contains natural hot springs at its base with mineral-rich water emerging from volcanic underground sources. The water reaches temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius and is popular with visitors for a refreshing dip after hiking.
