Barru

Barru is an administrative regency in South Sulawesi composed of multiple districts and settlements spread across its territory. The region includes both rural villages and urban areas that together form an organized administrative network.

The creation of this administrative region represented an important step in organizing South Sulawesi's administration more effectively. Since then, the territory has developed through a structured system of rural and urban settlements.

The regency administration adopted HIBRIDAH as its motto, reflecting the local values of maintaining green spaces and environmental cleanliness throughout the territory.

Located at an elevation of 149 meters above sea level, Barru Regency experienced population growth from 165,983 in 2010 to 194,543 by mid-2023.
