National Coffee Park, Theme park in Montenegro, Colombia.
National Coffee Park is a theme park in Montenegro, Colombia, focused on Colombian coffee cultivation and featuring several rides and exhibition areas. The grounds spread across wide stretches of green spaces, plantations, and covered halls that display coffee-processing machines and information panels.
The Colombian coffee federation opened the grounds in 1995 to present the region's coffee-growing legacy and offer entertainment for families. Since then, new rides and exhibition areas have been added while the original plantings remained.
The park takes its name from a coffee plantation and displays machines and tools used in the region for decades during harvest. Visitors see houses built in the style of traditional coffee fincas and can watch beans being roasted and ground.
Shuttle buses run regularly from the center of Armenia to the entrance, and the ticket allows access to most rides without extra fees. It helps to arrive early for shorter wait times at the most popular attractions and to see the exhibitions at a relaxed pace.
A roller coaster runs through coffee plantations and reaches speeds of about 85 kilometers per hour (53 miles per hour) between the trees. The track covers a length of more than 1300 meters (4265 feet) and offers views over the surrounding hills and fields.
