Anapoima is a municipality in Cundinamarca located at 710 meters elevation, approximately 87 kilometers from Bogotá. The surrounding area includes six neighboring municipalities and is primarily characterized by agricultural activities and farming.
The settlement was founded in 1627 by Spanish counselor Don Lesmes de Espinosa Saravia on lands previously inhabited by the Anapoyma people. This origin connects the colonial period with the region's earlier indigenous populations.
