Pike County stretches across 547 square miles of northeastern Pennsylvania, featuring the Delaware River, numerous lakes, and extensive forested areas within the Allegheny Plateau.

The county, established in 1814, received its name from Zebulon Montgomery Pike, a United States Army officer who conducted expeditions through the American frontier.
