Watts Towers, Artistic structures in Los Angeles

The Watts Towers are a collection of 17 interconnected sculptural structures within the Simon Rodia State Historic Park in Los Angeles.

Built by Italian immigrant construction worker Sabato (Simon) Rodia in his spare time over a period of 33 years, from 1921 to 1954.

The Towers are considered an important example of outsider art and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The site is managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation as the Watts Towers of Simon Rodia State Historic Park.

Despite the towers' delicate appearance, they have proven resilient to natural disasters, surviving both earthquakes and strong winds.
