U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model, Museum in USA
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model is a comprehensive overall hydraulic model of the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta Systems.
Created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1957, it has been used to simulate tides and currents, making it instrumental in understanding and planning water management in the region.
Over time, the model has become a cultural landmark and educational tool engaging its audiences about the complex water system in California.
The place is wheelchair accessible and free to the public; guided tours are also available with prior arrangements.
