Port of Oakland, Major seaport in California, USA
The Port of Oakland is the fifth busiest port in the United States.
Established in 1927, it was the first major port on the Pacific Coast of the United States to build terminals for container ships.
It plays a significant role in the economy of the San Francisco Bay Area; its operations are responsible for $130 billion in trade.
The port covers about 19 square miles and offers approximately 200 flights daily.
It's the only port on the U.S. West Coast that has not been in financial default since the Great Depression.
