St. Andräer See

St. Andräer See is an artificial lake in the Lavant Valley surrounded by landscaped green areas and shoreline facilities. The water reaches depths around 5 meters and is bordered by paths and rest areas.

The lake was created in 1990 within the floodplain of the Lavant River and opened for swimming in 1991. This artificial body of water transformed the riverside landscape into a recreational space.

The lake serves as a gathering place where people come to swim, fish, and spend time outdoors together. It is a central spot where locals enjoy water activities throughout the year.

The shoreline is easy to access with walking paths and seating areas overlooking the water. A buffet with refreshments operates during certain months, so it is worth checking in advance.

The lake is home to several fish species including northern pike and common roach that inhabit its waters. Zander were added later to expand the variety of aquatic life within it.
