The Crazy Horse Memorial is a mountain monument under construction on privately held land in the Black Hills, in Custer County, South Dakota.
It was commissioned by Henry Standing Bear, a Lakota elder, to be sculpted by Korczak Ziolkowski.
It is considered a tribute to the Native American culture and a response to Mount Rushmore, which honors four U.S. presidents.
The memorial is not yet complete but is open for public visitation.
When finished, it may become the world's largest sculpture.
