Berglsteiner See

Berglsteiner See is a natural monument lake located in Breitenbach am Inn at an elevation of 713 meters, with two small islands set within its clear waters. The lake sits within a forested landscape that makes it accessible to walkers and nature observers.

The lake received official designation as a natural monument in Tyrol because of its ecological importance and receives special protection status. This recognition reflects how the region has valued this water body over time.

Local stories connect the two islands to a romantic legend that residents have passed down through generations. This folklore gives the lake a special place in the area's oral traditions.

A marked forest path of about 30 minutes leads from the Reintal East parking area to the lake and is suitable for various fitness levels. Spring and autumn offer the best conditions for a visit, as weather tends to be more stable and paths remain dry.

The water body changes across seasons and offers visitors in winter a completely different experience than in summer. Winter walks reveal entirely new perspectives on the water surface and the surrounding landscape.
