Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing

The Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing spreads across 60 hectares of woodland, featuring 103 authentic rural buildings relocated from different regions of Austria.

Founded in 1962 by Professor Viktor Herbert Pöttler, the museum preserves a grain storage box from 1452, representing the oldest structure in the collection.

The museum functions as a center for traditional handicrafts, offering workshops and demonstrations of wood carving, basket weaving, and historical bread baking techniques.

Visitors can explore the museum from April through October between 9 AM and 6 PM, with free admission for individuals under 19 years old.

The museum grounds exist within a protected Natura 2000 zone, combining cultural preservation with natural conservation efforts in the Mur River valley.
