Schloss Straßburg

Schloss Straßburg is a castle in Austria located at about 754 meters elevation with thick stone walls and towers. The structure displays typical features of Austrian fortified buildings and today contains different exhibition spaces.

The castle was built as a residence for bishops and played an important role in administering the Carinthia region over many centuries. The fortress remained a central seat of power and influence for an extended period.

The castle is reached via Schloßweg 6 in Straßburg and can be explored on foot through its different sections. There are no major obstacles to access, making a visit straightforward.

Since 1995, the Kulturring organization has organized various events within the castle, including exhibitions, concerts, and children's programs. This activity transforms the location into a living cultural center rather than just a historical museum.
