Sajathütte, Mountain refuge in Prägraten am Großvenediger, Austria.
Sajathütte is a mountain hut located at 2575 meters (8448 feet) elevation in East Tyrol, providing basic overnight accommodation for hikers crossing the Austrian Alps. The building contains simple dormitory-style sleeping areas and a communal dining room where guests share meals together.
The original hut was destroyed by an avalanche and rebuilt in 2001. The reconstruction restored it as a vital rest point for mountaineers traveling through the Hohe Tauern region.
The mountain hut maintains traditional Alpine hospitality through its communal dining spaces where visitors share experiences and build connections during their stays.
The hut can be reached via two main routes: from Bodenalm with a climb of around 900 meters (3000 feet) or from Bichl parking area with around 1200 meters (3900 feet). When planning a visit, consider the altitude, changing weather conditions, and your own fitness level.
The facility features an outdoor climbing wall where mountaineers can practice their techniques while viewing the Lasörling group and Panargen ridge. This additional training opportunity sets it apart from a simple overnight shelter.
