ErzbergRodeo

ErzbergRodeo is a motorcycle enduro competition held on the steep slopes and rocky paths of a large open pit iron ore mine. The natural terrain creates rough racing tracks with obstacles that demand skill and stamina.

The competition started in 1995 as a local race and grew into one of Europe's major extreme sports events. It joined the international hardwire motorcycle racing circuit in 2021.

The event draws motorcycle riders from around the world who meet for a shared adventure on these challenging slopes. Participants value the bonds formed while pushing themselves on the rocky terrain together.

The four-day event runs in multiple rounds, beginning with a qualifying race that selects the fastest riders for the main competition. Visitors should expect extreme terrain and wear sturdy footwear plus protective gear.

Only a small fraction of participants manage to complete the full course within the time limit, which shows just how extreme this race really is. Many riders consider simply taking part a victory in itself.
