Schloss Oberstockstall

The castle complex features a rectangular courtyard surrounded by residential and agricultural buildings, with Gothic window frames from the 16th century.

The estate was built in the mid-16th century over medieval foundations and served as an administrative center for the Passau Cathedral chapter during the 18th century.

The narrow chapel from 1320 contains a three-bay cross-ribbed vault and displays a wall painting of Saint Christopher from the first half of the 14th century.

While the main building and walled garden remain private, visitors can explore the alchemist museum in Kirchberg am Wagram's old town hall.

In 1980, archaeologists discovered the largest collection of 16th-century alchemist laboratory equipment, comprising more than 1000 artifacts.
