Burgruine Jagdberg, Medieval castle ruins in Schlins, Austria

The stone walls of Burgruine Jagdberg stand on a hill at 569 meters above sea level, overlooking the Vorarlberg region.

The castle, constructed around 1200, served as the headquarters for the Counts of Montfort-Feldkirch before becoming Habsburg property in 1397.

The interior courtyard of the palace has functioned as an open-air theater since 1949, hosting performances during summer months.

The ruins underwent substantial restoration work between 1911 and 1953, making them accessible for visitors interested in medieval architecture.

A swimming pool was constructed in the castle courtyard during the early 20th century when the site housed the Jagdberg Regional Youth Center.
