Oberranna Castle

The castle's first documented mention dates to 1108, when Pilgrim von Ranna-Grie appeared in records as part of the Counts of Formbach from Bavaria.

The castle walls feature life-size frescoes depicting former residents, representing medieval artistic traditions of Austrian noble residences.

The castle structure connects to a neighboring church through a wooden walkway, which served defensive purposes during the Middle Ages.

Laurent Deléglise's 1930 renovation works led to the discovery of a previously unknown crypt beneath the castle structure.
