Greith-Haus, architectural structure
The Greith-Haus is a cultural center in Sankt Martin im Sulmtal designed by architects Michael Szyszkowitz and Karla Kowalski. The building features a large main room accommodating about 240 seated and 100 standing visitors, equipped with modern technical facilities for theater, music, and exhibition events.
The Greith-Haus opened in 2001 and received the Austrian Building Award that same year. The idea to create this cultural space came from author Gerhard Roth, who made a significant contribution to the local cultural landscape.
The house takes its name from the local artistic community that shaped it. It serves as a meeting point where people gather to experience art and music, bridging urban cultural traditions with rural village life.
The building sits on a slope in the village center and is easy to reach. The modern interior with wood and glass elements creates a welcoming environment for all types of cultural events.
The house hosts special art exhibitions each year featuring modern artists from the region. These exhibitions often develop with support from notable musicians like Erich Kleinschuster, who performs regularly and actively shapes the venue's direction.
