Moldaublick, Observation tower in Ulrichsberg, Austria.
Moldaublick is an observation tower on Sulzberg Hill with a metal structure and 137 steps leading to the viewing platform. The platform offers views across the Moldau valley and surrounding landscape.
The tower was built in 1967 after trees had grown too tall at the original viewing spot. The new structure restored views of the river and mountain landscape.
The neighboring Holzschauhaus displays three traditional timber construction techniques with audio recordings of Adalbert Stifter texts. Visitors can learn how craftspeople in the area applied these historic methods.
The tower is accessible from April through November, with direct vehicle access during the summer months. Winter visitors can reach it via cross-country ski trails.
From the platform, visitors see the Lipno Reservoir, Vítkův kámen castle, and several mountain ranges including Smrčiny, Boubín, and Kleť. This view extends beyond Austria into neighboring Bohemia.
