Hoisn-Hof

Hoisn-Hof is a three-sided farmstead built with solid granite masonry, enclosed on its western side by an additional wall. The farm buildings feature original granite ceilings and a rounded-corner entrance gate.

The farm first appeared in written records in 1480 as part of the Reichenstein estate holdings. Major reconstruction by the Wurm brothers in the late 1800s shaped the granite structures visitors see today.

The chapel on the property shows how families blended daily farm life with spiritual practice through their own sacred space. This approach to combining work and worship was common in rural mountain communities.

The property is best accessed on foot and suits visitors interested in rural building techniques and regional architecture. The chapel remains on private land, so access to it is restricted.

A carved stone figure adorns one wall, depicted holding a sphere above its head. This kind of decorative stonework served as a mark of the craftsman's skill and local pride.
