Nature park Raab-Őrség-Goričko

The Nature Park Raab-Őrség-Goričko spans across 1,044 square kilometers of rolling hills, meadows, forests, vineyards, and orchards between the Lafnitz River and Stadelberg mountain.

The Battle of Mogersdorf in 1664 marked a significant event when Christian forces defeated Turkish troops, commemorated today by the White Cross monument within the park.

The park maintains traditional agricultural practices, including pumpkin cultivation for oil production and apple orchards that supply local juice production facilities.

Visitors can access the park through Jennersdorf railway station and connect to surrounding municipalities via regular bus services throughout the natural park communities.

The park features marked hiking trails along the Raab River, where kingfishers dive for fish, and dice snakes, Austria's only river-dwelling snake species, inhabit the waters.
