Anras-Gericht, Pfleghof

The stone castle rises above Anras village with its substantial walls, rectangular layout, and architectural features from different construction periods.

Built in the 11th century as an administrative center for the Prince-Bishops of Brixen, the castle served as a court and governmental seat until 1803.

The castle houses exhibitions about regional history and art collections in its upper floors, presenting artifacts from Tyrolean heritage.

Visitors can explore the castle's museum sections, attend cultural events in the function rooms, and visit the newly established café on the ground floor.

The Messerschmitt Foundation acquired part of the building in 1989 and completed extensive renovations in 1997, transforming it into a cultural center.
