St. Ulrich's Church, Vienna

St. Ulrich's Church is a baroque structure with twin towers and a grand entrance staircase. Stone statues of Saints Benedict, Ulrich, Aloysius, and Johannes Nepomuk are positioned at the entrance, marking the threshold into the building.

The current building was constructed between 1721 and 1724, replacing an earlier chapel established in 1211. The original structure was destroyed during the Ottoman sieges of Vienna.

The interior displays red stucco marble altars contrasted with white figures that emphasize the baroque style. These religious artworks shape how the space feels to visitors today.

The church is located at St.-Ulrichs-Platz between Burggasse and Neustiftgasse and is easy to find in the neighborhood. As an active parish, regular services happen throughout the week, so visitors should plan around scheduled times of worship.

Inside the church is a special image of Mary dating to 1699, inspired by a statue near Graz. This religious artwork holds importance for worshippers and gives the building a particular spiritual focus.
