Schloss Innernstein, Medieval castle in Münzbach, Austria

The castle stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Sulzbaches valley, featuring a massive round defense tower and a southeastern gate tower.

First documented in 1290, the structure transformed from a fortification into a Renaissance manor house during the second half of the 16th century.

The castle's upper story displays family coats of arms of former owners, while the interior maintains baroque elements with doors dating from 1700.

The privately owned castle remains inhabited and closed to public access, situated 3 kilometers east of Münzbach's town center in Upper Austria.

Between 1996 and 1998, the castle hosted concerts by the Salzburg Residence Soloists during the Danube Festival Weeks.
