Wasserleitungskraftwerk Gaming is an electricity generation facility composed of two separate installations that harness natural elevation differences to produce power. The two plants operate using different methods: one employs turbines fed by water from above, while the other uses pressurized water driven through an extensive pipeline system.

The first installation was built in the 1920s to supply electricity for Vienna Electric Works. A second facility was added later to expand power production for the growing demand.

The power station represents an important part of industrial history that once shaped energy supply in the region. Visitors can still see the engineering methods of that era reflected in how the structures were built.

The facility is located in a mountainous area and is difficult to access without a planned route. You should check in advance which areas are open to visitors and whether registration is needed before your visit.

The power station uses water from a Vienna drinking water pipeline, meaning drinking water supply and electricity generation share the same infrastructure. This combined approach shows how different utility systems can work together in one installation.
