Filialkirche hl. Ruprecht, Romanesque church in Bruck an der Mur, Austria
The Filialkirche St. Ruprecht features a choir tower, late Gothic choir, and two-aisled nave with a baroque tower addition in the center of Bruck an der Mur.
The church traces its origins to 860 when King Ludwig donated the manor to the Archbishop of Salzburg, functioning as the parish church until 1545.
The church contains a massive 45-square-meter fresco of the Last Judgment from 1416, created by the school of the Bruck Minorite Master.
Visitors can observe multiple architectural periods within the building, from its Romanesque foundations to Gothic elements and Baroque modifications.
The north wall preserves a late Gothic tendril painting from the 15th century, while the high altar from 1680 displays twisted columns with vine leaves.
