Schloss Weißenau, Wolfsberg

Schloss Weißenau is a Renaissance castle in Wolfsberg featuring a two-story structure with three wings arranged around a central courtyard. The building combines architectural elements from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Andreas Weiß, who worked as caretaker at Burg Twimberg, commissioned the castle's construction in the early 16th century. The building underwent significant modifications over subsequent centuries.

The banquet hall in the southwest wing displays baroque stucco work and a fireplace bearing Bishop von Stadion's coat of arms. These decorative elements reflect the elevated social standing of those who lived here.

The castle is located at Reinfelsdorf 20 in Wolfsberg and is easy to find from the main road. Keep in mind that this is a protected historical monument and may have limited public access depending on current conditions.

Laura von Kaszonyi introduced English Tudor Gothic elements to the facade during extensive renovations in 1890, including crenellated battlements. This unexpected stylistic mix gives the building its distinctive appearance.
