Saint George Church

Saint George Church stands at 770 meters on a plateau edge with a Gothic red marble altar and a burial chamber beneath the choir. Its hilltop position allows for these distinctive architectural features while offering views across the Ennstal valley.

The church was consecrated on July 17, 1130 by Bishop Wocho of Seckau, establishing its role as a regional religious center. Its Gothic artworks and architectural features show how building styles evolved over the centuries that followed.
