The Maria Locherboden church stands 150 meters above the Inn Valley on the Sassberg mountain, offering views across the Mieminger Plateau.
Following numerous reported miracles at an underground gallery entrance in the 18th century, the Neo-Gothic church was constructed and consecrated in 1901.
The church maintains a tradition of monthly night pilgrimage processions from May to October on the 11th of each month.
A large parking area at the foot of the church hill provides convenient access, with the church reachable through a 10-minute walking path.
