Maria Locherboden

Maria Locherboden is a Neo-Gothic church structure perched on a mountainside above the Inn Valley, standing approximately 150 meters higher than the surrounding terrain. The building features a traditional church layout with a bell tower and occupies a prominent hillside location that commands views across the valley below.

The structure was built in 1901, following generations of reports about miraculous healings and spiritual phenomena at the site. Its construction formalized the location as an official place of pilgrimage and religious devotion.

The church draws pilgrims and visitors seeking spiritual connection, making it an important place for local religious practice and devotion. People come here to pray and reflect, and the site has become a focal point for faith-based gatherings throughout the year.

A large parking area at the base of the hill provides convenient vehicle access, and the walk up to the building takes approximately ten minutes. The path is clearly marked and features regular rest spots, making the ascent manageable for visitors of varying abilities.

Inside the church is a notable painting of the Virgin Mary that continues to draw visitors seeking spiritual healing or guidance. The site also includes a Way of the Cross trail marked by wooden crosses that guides visitors through the surrounding landscape.
