Schloss Bisamberg, Renaissance manor house in Bisamberg, Austria
Schloss Bisamberg is a three-story manor house distinguished by nine symmetrical window axes on its main facade. Four corner towers with distinctive roof designs define the building's overall character and proportions.
The castle was built in 1568 by Johann von Weber, replacing earlier structures on the site. Its original design included a water moat with defensive bastions and a drawbridge for protection.
The castle serves as a central venue for local gatherings and celebrations in the community. Its grounds have become a place where residents come together for seasonal events and festivals.
Since the castle is privately owned, visits require advance arrangements to access the interior. The public garden area can be explored freely and offers pleasant walks through the grounds.
The castle garden displays a Roman column from the Archaeological Park Carnuntum, connecting the site to the region's ancient past. A stone sculpture titled Venus von Bisamberg, created in 1989, adds another layer of artistic heritage to the grounds.
