Pfarrkirche Schwanenstadt, Protected heritage church in Schwanenstadt, Austria.
Pfarrkirche Schwanenstadt is a three-nave church building with a prominent tower marking the town center. The tower features a steep pointed dome that frames the structure's central location in the community.
The parish was first recorded in 1291 and grew from early medieval monastery activities. The current neo-Gothic building came into being in the early 1900s under the direction of Ludwig Linzinger.
The church displays neo-Gothic styling with crafted details from the early 1900s. The interior makes an impression through its three-nave layout and the carved high altar showing a life-sized scene.
The location is central and easily reached on foot, with the prominent tower helping with orientation. Regular services take place on weekends and offer visitors a chance to see the interior during these times.
Inside sits a pneumatic organ from 1905 with 37 registers, considered one of Josef Mauracher's largest instruments made. The organ received a full restoration in 1995 while keeping its original sound character.
