Pfarrkirche Echsenbach

The stone church stands on a hill in the northern part of Echsenbach, surrounded by a cemetery and featuring a Romanesque nave with round windows.

The church, first documented in 1250 as a branch of Altpölla parish church, gained independence in 1296 and underwent reconstruction in 1427.

The interior displays a Gothic sanctuary niche with ornamental details from the 13th century and an iron grille from the late 15th century.

Sunday masses take place at 9:45 AM, with special rhythmic services scheduled for the first Sunday of each month at the same time.

The modern interior contains a folk altar made of Waldviertel granite, complemented by wooden sculptures including a crucifix from 1971.
