The Annunziatakloster Am Stein features neo-gothic architectural elements with two wings containing 37 individual rooms and extensive grounds for agricultural activities.
Founded in 1899 by Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Mary, the monastery served as a military hospital during World War II, housing wounded soldiers.
The monastery functioned as a novitiate, preparing young women from neighboring countries for missionary work while maintaining agricultural traditions.
The monastery complex now houses a biodynamic farm with a shop selling local produce and agricultural products to visitors.
In 1958, workers discovered a jar containing silver coins from the 14th and 15th centuries during excavation work at the monastery grounds.
